CLOGS AND BAGPIPES

This event is entirely dedicated to children and Christmas. The pipers are coming with the donkeys of Gombola!
In the squares, in the streets of countries and towns, the sound of the bagpipes and the nice cheerfulness of the donkeys will make the days of Christmas even more memorable. Tractable as usual, the donkeys will carry the children in short walks for the road, showing their kind nature. And if they don't want to move, no stick! Only carrots and they will move again.

The pipers will perform the reproposal of Christmas music of every time: from the Middle Ages to the classics that we still know.
Already proposed with success next Christmas, the initiative found its full and best accomplishment thanks to the contribution of the people and the community involved, that prepared the squares with simple but effective contour elements.
Few tricks are required for the donkeys and to be sure that the party takes place in an ideal environment: roads close to traffic, a small barred space with water and hay for the donkeys, a glass of mulled wine for the pipers. That's all!
We forgot: it's also necessary to contact us as soon as possible, because "Clogs and bagpipes" are much requested. Christmas comes once in a year, even if our availability goes from the Feast of Immaculate (8 december) to Epiphany (6 january), with or without donkeys.

MUSICAL WORKSHOP “IL MUSICATTOLO”

What's "Il musicattolo"?
With this proposal we’d like to get the children closer to the music in its widest meaning: games, dances, songs, instruments construction, orchestration and shows. Furthermore it aims to improve, as a group interaction, musical experience through every partecipant’s skill.
Among the main purposes we’d like to achieve, you can find the construction of two musical instruments related to popular musical tradition and the learning of simple rhythmics cells to be performed with those same instruments and with gestures/sounds; the learning of folk dances; a rhythmic composition created by the children; a little show at the end of the workshop with children and operators.

What do we do?
Dances: learning and performing two traditional dances, one french (circle dance) and one italian (The Monferrina of Riolunato, danced in May by girls).
Instruments: construction of two out of tune little instruments (the ‘segone’, made with bottle caps, pieces of broomstick, nails – the ‘tric trac’, made with boards and pieces of alluminium). The instruments will be played during the dances and used to realize a new composition created by the children.
Songs: the children will realize a text for one of the created compositions (text-music association).
Rhythmic cells: learning and performing rhythmical fragments played with instruments and with gestures/sounds, even in a polyrhythmical way.

How is it organized?
The operators action is based on a methodology of inductive kind whose object is the interaction among the specifical knowledges of the children with the new skill learned during this experience; in this workshop everybody has the same role: in order to create music together and not to teach musical notions.
It’s important to consider that the construction of the instruments doesn’t involve dangerous activities for the children. The pieces of wood will be cutted by the operators and only put toghether by the children, who will be involved in crushing and piercing bottle caps and putting the pieces together.

Who is it for?
The Musicattolo fits primary and nursery schools; associations; cultural and recreation centers for children; music schools and all that places where people work for the transmission of musical knowledges and children’s pleasure.
The length of the workshop can change according to the client’s needs. On the basis of previous experiences, we suggest at least 6/8 meetings of half an hour each, for groups of 15 children at most. The ideal age of the partecipants goes from 6 to 10 years, but we can find ad hoc solutions for other age-bracket too.
